Harbor Lane started as a Saturday stall at the Sausalito farmers market with one oven, one starter and far too much optimism. Ten years on we have a shop, four ovens and the same starter.
We buy flour from a mill in Petaluma, butter from a dairy up the road and fruit from whichever farm has the best that week. It costs more. It also tastes like something.
The shop is small, so we bake to sell out rather than to have leftovers. If you want something particular, order ahead and we will keep it for you.
12 Harbor Lane, Sausalito. Two blocks from the ferry. There is no parking, which is part of the charm.
Six of us, most of whom started as customers. We open at 7, but the first shift starts at 4.
